The team at LVC would like to sincerely thank all the inspirational women that attended our Female Veterans’ Networking Event and Afternoon Tea at the The Royal Scots Club on Saturday from all corners of Scotland and the north of England. A special thanks goes to Susie Hamilton, the Scottish Veterans Commissioner for her engaging address to the women, and to Liza Jarvis, from the Female Veterans’ Transformation Programme, for providing an update on the remarkable work being done to produce the much needed and eagerly anticipated online toolkit for female veterans and organisations like us that support them. We are extremely grateful for the funding from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust which meant we could organise such an important event for women in the Veterans’ Community.
We must also thank @ba.events.and.photobooth who gave us a special rate because we are a small charity supporting veterans and families. Lastly but certainly not least, a massive thank you goes to Peter at The Dundee Gin Co for providing such a fantastic selection of gin for everyone to taste and for the kind and generous donation to our raffle!
There was a wealth of experience in the room on Saturday including the lived experience of ex-servicewomen and that of our partner organisations that support them. This was a meaningful opportunity to share experiences and information and collaborate.
Thankyou to all the women for making the event so successful. We look forward to continuing to support you and to the next event where we can promote further collaboration.
