Our veterans and families had a cracking day out last Friday 8th September when we visited Barnton Bunker. Big thanks go out to Ben and Jordan who showed us round the bunker that they have been painstakingly restoring to its former 1950’s glory. One of our Royal Signals veterans, Anne Alexander, spent the day reminiscing […]
Had a great Family Sports Day, the weather was kind to us and we had over 120 people attend. There are multiple thanks the LVC team would like to say: Our volunteers and helpers who were invaluable in making the day the success it was. To our families for attending. Massive thanks to the Armed […]
Some of the team and veterans took a trip west to Loch Goil Cruisers. They had the use of 3 cruisers for the full day, surrounded by fabulous scenery and scorching sunshine. A few veterans spent the day reeling in some fish, whilst others (Pauline) basked in the sun topping up her tan.
WOW What an incredible night we had on Friday 5th May at our quiz. Thank you to everyone who attended, participated, and donated. In total, we managed to raise an incredible £935 for the centre. Thank you to Dalkeith British Legion X for hosting us and providing a tasty buffet. Thank you also to the […]
In April LVC had the privilege of being able to take a select few families away for 3 days to Rothiemurchus, Aviemore. We stayed at Rothiemurchus for the duration where George was more than welcoming and accommodating. Over the 3 days we visited Jenni at Cairngorm Alpacas, Landmark Adventure Park and Strathspey Steam Railway. The […]

Please join us in congratulating Ian on his Lifetime Achievement award and Mo on his Role Model of the Year award. They are well deserved! What a fantastic night!
It is with the utmost sadness that we have to let you all know of the passing of Sandy Thomson, ex-RAF, on 8th February 2023. Sandy was a stalwart of LVC and he was almost part of the furniture here. Despite a long battle with Parkinsons and Dementia he didn’t let it stop him from […]

We’re looking forward to attending the event on 19 April where they will hopefully each bring home an award! It’s important to recognise veterans’ achievements, and we are delighted that they have both […]
Get your coats, you’ve PULLED! It was a bitterly cold day on Saturday the 21st of January when we went clay pigeon shooting but that didn’t stop us from having a BLAST! Particular thanks go to our outstanding instructors, Big Gordon Lumsden (ex-RSM 1st Bn Royal Scots) and Bert Hunter, who were both fantastic and […]
